Indian outsourcing not a threat to British jobs

The hype about large numbers of British jobs being outsourced to developing countries like India may be overstated. According to The Work Foundation, there is little evidence so far of significant job migration, assuaging fears that India is taking away a large number of British jobs. The report stated that just 5.5 % of all jobs lost across Europe were due to offshoring activities in the first quarter of 2007. Jobs in sectors theoretically vulnerable to outsourcing such as call centers have actually gone up rather than down in Britain.
